MAY MEETING 2013

John Wesley Villas Retirement Community, Savannah and the Savannah Woman's Club donated $1015.00 to the 3rd Annual David Jimenez Open Golf Tournament which will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Lost Plantation Golf Club in Rincon, GA.  The tournament is a fundraiser for the Coastal Georgia Alzheimer's Association. David Jimenez is the husband of Arlene Jimenez, a Club member.  David, a retired Pro Golfer, has Alzheimer's disease.  Over $16,000 has been raised by the tournament for the Alzheimer's Association the past two years.

APRIL 2013 MEETING


 Stuart Miller is pictured with Club President, Dottie Kraft (left) and Louise Fountain (right), Club Education Co-Chairman at the May 2013 Regular Meeting held at John Wesley Villas.  Mr. Miller, Development Director at Tallulah Falls College Preparatory School, was the Program speaker.  Mr. Miller's presentation gave an overview on the school and the programs offered to students.  The Club presented Mr. Miller with a donation of $1000.00 to be used toward scholarships.  
TALLULAH FALLS SCHOOL

Tallulah Falls School was founded in 1909 by Mary Ann Libscomb - Founder of Tallulah Falls School the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs and Mrs. Mary Ann Lipscomb, who was serving as the president of the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs. The School and the Federation have deep roots in the history of secondary education in Georgia.
On July 12, 1909, Tallulah Falls School opened its doors to 21 mountain children from neighboring Habersham and Rabun Counties and continued to serve as both a public and a private institution of learning for more than sixty years. In 1970 the School became a privately chartered institution serving students from throughout Georgia, the Southeast, the nation, and abroad.
